When Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) informed that the Stryper gospel concert in Dimapur which was supposed to be held Wednesday was rescheduled many fans in Dimapur were wee bit disappointed but never lost hope.
The disappointment is sure to be exorcized when the Christian glam metal band from California hit the stage at DDSC Stadium Dimapur this coming Sunday.
One fan who have enthusiastically followed the band’s career graph since the mid 1980s said, "I can wait but not miss this opportunity to watch them perform live."
Even as the public announcement of the rescheduling took place, Michael Sweet, the lead singer/lead guitarist of the band (@michaelhsweet) Tuesday tweeted that they were leaving for India to perform for the "very first time" with certain amount of excitement.
He tweeted "the original schedule was to perform on the 19th and then on the 22nd, however, we are now performing on the 22nd in Kohima and on the 23rd in Dimapur."
Michael who was also co-lead singer/guitarist for the band Boston also briefly explained how the event had to be rescheduled.
"The change unfortunately was out of our control and was based upon not being able to obtain visas in time. We’re happy to announce that we have ALL visas in hand and we are flying to India tomorrow (9/19).
It’s our first time ever to perform in India and we’re extremely excited and looking forward to two amazing shows!!!", tweeted Michael and said "God Bless and se(e) you soon".
He even wanted to know "How many @Starbucks are there in Kohima and Dimapur? :-)". Stryper front man continued "Looks like I’m hitting @Starbucks in Dubai and filling the tank up there before we head to the east. No Starbies in Kohima, or Dimapur:-(".
Just before Michael’s messages, one of the Naga female fans @LongdiJr tweeted @stryperband "cant wait to see ur Live performance tomorrow, 19 september, here in Dimapur!!!!!..too excited :)", perhaps not knowing that the show had been rescheduled.
