Seminar on strengthening youth

A one-day seminar was jointly organized by 26 Aonglenden constituency ACYC Arkong, Dilong, Sangtemla and Marepkong units at Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung on the theme “Tekumkum Lanur II’, with Akok Walling, associate professor Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung and Dr. Panger, lecturer Clark Theological College, Aolijen as resource persons.

Associate professor, Akok Walling speaking on ‘Tekumkum Lanur’ (strengthened youth) said that a leader needed to be focused and called on the leaders to be a “productive agents and not a consuming ends.”

He also urged the area leaders to master the “art of restrain.” Dr. Panger, Lecturer at Clark Theological College, Aolijen spoke on the topic, ‘The duty of a youth in the present context’.

He said, “political arena is one of the most effective means a youth can be involved in, because it is the apparatus or the decision making agent of the public”.

However, he added that corruption has totally taken over it, in the midst of the leadership and civilizational crisis. According to Panger, a void has been created by theNaga cultural, religious and modern state system trying to overlap each other.

The programme was chaired by Aongsen and the discussion was led by Tongpangyanger. While vote of thanks was proposed by A. Bendang Jamir, president, 26 Aonglenden ACYC thanked Dr. & S C Jamir, former Governor of Goa & Maharashtra for sponsoring the seminar.
