Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Novices’ embrace religious life

Congregation of the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) Corpus Christi Province North East was held on September 29 when twelve Novices committing themselves to the Lord by embracing religious life and following the congregation “Eucharistic Devotion”.

The celebration of Holy Mass was officiated by Most. Rev. John Moolachira, Archbishop of Guwahati. Besides priests and sisters parents, relatives and well wishers witnessed the holy ceremony.

Rev. John Moolachira in his homily congratulated the newly professed sisters for their commitment to the Church and to gospel values.

“As we are choosing this life, we need to have self denial and follow the values of Jesus. As this year is dedicated as “Year of faith” by Pope Benedict XVI from October 11 till November 24, we need to bring up the faith through new evangelization”, said the Archbishop.

The newly professed sisters were Sr. Gabriela Huten and Sr. Marygrace Timungphi from St. Peters Parish Chandel, Sr. Alphy Kayina, Sr. Lucy Kayina and Sr. Emelda Kayina from St. Joseph Parish Tadubi, Sr. Rosena Paovumai from Holy Cross Parish Phaibung Khullen, Sr. Rosy Awungshi, Sr. Margart Machinao from Sacred Heart Parish Hundung, Sr. Angelle Shingnaisui Mary Help of Parish Ukhrul. They belong to the Archdiocese of Imphal. Sr. Roselit Nanki Thonger from St. Peter’s Parish Kiphire Kohima Diocese. Sr. Medries Timungpahi from St. Paul Parish Amkachi Diphu Diocese, Sr. Prema Tirkey Stella Maris Parish Helem Tezpur Diocese.

The eucharistic celebration was followed by a felicitation programme where the newly professed sisters were congratulated by the congregation.
