Cabinet nod to construct tribal court buildings

State cabinet has approved construction of Tribal Courts buildings under the Nagaland Village Council Act, 2009 with the financial assistance provided by the government of India under the Gram Nayayalayas Act 2008 and also discontinuance of Fast Track Court (FTC) scheme in Nagaland.

According to an official source, the cabinet at its meeting on September 13 deferred amendment of the Nagaland Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Police Service Rules besides a decision to withdraw power to recruit SIs from the Vigilance Commission by restoring appointment to the NPSC.

The source further stated, the cabinet had also approved the proposal of School Education Department for appointment of 633 members of part time instructors under SSA in the Government Middle Schools having enrolment of more than 100 students as per the guidelines enclosed under the Cabinet Memorandum.

As per the source, the cabinet also deferred the mutation of land in favour of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India represented by the 16th Assam Rifles.

The cabinet decided to defer restructuring nomenclature of commissioner of excise into commissioner of excise and narcotics and bifurcation of power department into Directorate of Distribution & Revenue and Directorate of Transmission & Generation.

The bifurcation of the Power department was recommended by the Nagaland Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) to improve working and efficiency of the department.
