Sub-centre building at Hankvu village

The newly constructed sub-centre building at Hankvu village was inaugurated on October 30 by Er. W. Kithan, parliamentary secretary, prison, home guards, fire and emergency services in the presence of Dr. N.M Kithan, chief medical officer, Dr. W.N Ezung, deputy chief medical officer, Wokha, and Community leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Er. Kithan suggested that the sub-centre should aim  at delivering health services to the people, at the same time, added the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) has uplifted the health sector in terms of services/infrastructure facilities and was continuing to do so, for which he said communitization concept should be put in action and not only in words.

He urged the villagers to receive the services available at the health centre as with the rapid growth and ever changing lifestyles, medicines keep on changing and urged the people to stop self medication but to consult health workers for all kinds of health problems in order to prevent health complications and further urged the medical staff to be sincere in disseminating their duties for the sick and the needy people.

Further, he said the village council, village health committee, church leaders, student bodies and the people residing in the village should support and co-operate with the medical staff and maintain the sub-centre building as their own property.

He later lauded the department of health and family welfare for the tremendous work towards the benefit of the people.
Earlier the function was chaired by R. Nchumbemo, village chairman, Hankvu, and Nchubomo pastor, Hnkvu Baptist Church, invoked blessings for the function.
