Apex body of GT/PT selected teachers 2012 has reiterated its decision to stand by the resolutions listed in the memorandum submitted to the state governor, the chief minister’s office and the education minister on September 19.

This was unanimously decided by the selected teachers at a meeting held Tuesday at Kohima. GT/PT selected teachers 2012 information and publicity secretary Nilloni Chophy informed that as per the memorandum, the teachers have decided that no further recruitment should be carried out until the case filed by B. Ed candidates, which was pending in court, was resolved.

Chophy also informed that picketing of DEO offices was suspended till November 5, the scheduled court hearing day, on the appeals made by various NGOs and civil societies.

GT/PT selected teachers now decided to proceed forward with their next phase of action and called upon NGOs, civil societies and citizens for their support, said information and publicity secretary.

Furthermore, the selected teachers also questioned the silence maintained by the chief minister and the education minister on the memorandum submitted after the peaceful protest march on September 19 at Kohima.

They have warned that the government would be held responsible for any “untoward incidents” arising if it failed to fulfill their demands.

Selected teachers have been informed to attend district-wise house meetings on November 10 at the venue closest and contact their respective conveners or the information and publicity secretary at 8575499082.
