GPRN/NSCN Thursday said that it rejected the theory of imposition of one’s will on the others. In a written speech, president GPRN/NSCN ‘gen (rtd) Khole Konyak said the six decade old Naga political struggle would not end with a solution granted to a section of Nagas inhabiting a particular area.
Khole also said that factionalism has plucked away many precious lives and urged the NGOs and civil society leaders to prove that they could be trusted by all “revolutionary groups.”
He said that GPRN/NSCN was committed to reconciliation of all Nagas irrespective of political affiliations and without any pre-condition stating that it was the only way towards the political destination.
Khole also said that Naga society was caught up in the politics of “mistrust and division” adding that one could see “disruptive elements” at play to neutralize the spirit of Naga nationalism.
While delivering his speech, the GPRN/NSCN president also showed his uncanny knack of recalling the exact number of people killed over the decades fighting for an independent Nagaland including names of each village.
Stating that so many lives have been lost and villages destroyed, the ‘gen (rtd)’ Khole said now it was time to settle for peace and “build a house for Nagas”.
Lamenting the spurt in factional violence, Khole said there was no benefit if Nagas fought amongst one another. “If we continue to take revenge, it will not last, we will not survive”, he said.
Khole also likened the public to an “engine” and stated that it would be better if the engine also realized what was good or bad.
