DTFI to spread awareness on health issues

Phek district task force for immunization (DTFI) meeting was held on December 10 at the office chamber of DC Phek. Deputy Commissioner Phek Nikhashe chaired the meeting where some issues discussed included ‘Role of District Task Force, Implementation and observance of immunization week, observance of village health nutrition in all the villages under the district, observance of intensive pulse polio immunization day and family planning’.

CMO Phek Dr. L Watikala gave a brief highlight on the activities of the department which included visiting some of the remotest villages in the district. She said that it was the aim of the health department to reach out to all including mother and children to create awareness on important health issues and prevention of diseases as well as to conduct health camps and give medicine.

In this regard, she requested the district welfare officer Phek for close coordination so Anganwadi centre along with the workers and helpers would be actively involved for ensuring success of village Health Nutrition Day and other health related programmes.
District immunization officer Dr. Huozo further requested the district administration to extend help so that mass awareness on the importance of village health nutrition day, mass immunization and other health events which are actively participated by the public. The next meeting of the next Phek DTFI will be held on January 10.
