Former MLA Atomi K. Zhimomi on Saturday said the prospect of any nation can be measured directly by the potential of its youth and challenged the students of Niuland area to take up the responsibility in building a strong society as they have the potential to be the torch bearer in any field in the near future.
He reminded them that the future and well being of the society lied in their hands. He was speaking at as guest of honour at the valedictory function of 21th general conference of Niuland Area Students’ Union (NASU) hosted by Hakhizhe Students’ Union at Hakhizhe village.
In his short speech, Atomi also pointed out that youth has to be wise in making right choice and decision at this time when Naga people are at crucial political crossroad which needs matured and steadfast leadership to steer the people in the right direction for future generation.
Outgoing president and newly elected president of the union also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Rev. Vikheshe Chishi, founder and principal, Withee Bible College, Dimapur was the speaker of the conference.
Isak G. Zhimo, president, Niuland Area Citizens’ Forum and Pekingto Y. Zhimo, joint secretary, Western Sumi Youth Front exhorted the students at the conference.
Mughatoli Yeptho, games and sports secretary, NASU chaired the function. Zuheshe village students’ union led the praise and worship. Kiyezu ‘B’ students’ union presented a song. Lhowoto Zhimomi, advisor, NASU proposed vote of thanks.
Ghowoto Achumi, pastor, Hovukhu BC said the invocation while Sahozhe Swu, pastor, Ghotovi BC pronounced the vote of thanks. The 22nd annual session of the union will be hosted by Viyito Students’ Union.
