Christians asked to witness Christ’s attitude

Every Christians should witness the attitude of Christ in their day to day life. This was said by Bishop of Kohima, most Reverend Dr. James Thoppil while speaking on the second day of the ongoing Angami Catholic Union Silver Jubilee celebration cum 9th convention, Saturday at Kohima local ground.

He then called upon the Christians to emulate the attitude of Christ and practically implement it for others to witness the love of Christ.

Speaking on the theme ‘Launch out deeper’, Bishop said one should come out from the comfort zone and move on with more maturity in faith.

“Whoever wish to go deeper in Christian faith require changing oneself,” added Bishop. 
Stressing on the importance of holiness, Bishop said that it was impossible to acquire holiness without a prayerful life.

He then encouraged the congregation to cultivate the habit of reading the Bible.

Later, in the afternoon session, vicar general Kohima Diocese, Reverend Father Neisalhou Carolus while speaking on ‘Being a Catholic Christian in the 3rd millennium’ said that during the initial stages, Catholic churches faced lots of “criticism, misconception and misunderstanding” as it was considered as just an organization.

Urging the congregation not to give up on the culture of the pioneers and Catholic believers, vicar asked them to be a true disciples and not just a devotee.

On Sunday, Bishop of Kohima Rev. Dr. James Thoppil would unveil the jubilee monolith at the premises of SFS Church, 9.30 a.m., jubilee mass at the main venue at 11:30 a.m. followed by felicitation programme at 12:30 p.m. and jubilee feast.
