Filing nominations: 3 vehicles, 5 persons only
DIMAPUR, JAN 27 (NPN): Following the directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI), Assistant Election Officer-I (AEO) Dimapur Khekugha Sema Sunday instructed all political parties that only three vehicles with five persons including the candidate from each party would be allowed to enter inside the main gate of the Deputy Commissioner’s office compound during the filing of nominations.
AEO said the maximum number of vehicles in the convoy of a candidate or accompanying him to be allowed to come within the periphery of 100 meters of ROs/AROs office has been restricted to three.
According to the instruction from the AEO, the same rule and procedure would be followed till the last date for withdrawal of candidatures.
The district party presidents have been asked to instruct the same to their intending candidates in order to avoid any untoward “misunderstanding” with the district election officials.
