Excise mobile squad duty party stationed at Chumukedima check gate seized 50 kilograms of contraband ganja Sunday around 4 p.m. from a taxi (Tata Winger) heading towards Dimapur from Imphal.
According to excise department, the ganja was wrapped in blue polythene and concealed inside two trolley bags and placed on the carrier of the taxi. Each trolled contained five blocks of ganja.
Two persons, Ranjan Kumar son of Bindeshwar Mahto resident of Imphal Manipur and Sunil son of Ram Deni resident of Faridabad Harayana were arrested in this connection and charged under NDPS Act.
The duty party was led by Lanuyanger A.I.E along with Ndonsi head constable and Ihoto Sema constable.
