Niathu group of hotels and resorts Monday re-launched its two resorts Niathu and Noune after seven months since it was vandalized by a mob on September 1 last. In his welcome address, chairman Niathu group, Kechangulie Rio said that it was the endeavour of the group to ensure “world class” facilities and service to its customers. To ensure the same, he said constant effort was made to make the guests feel at home.

Highlighting on the objectives of the Niathu group, Kechangulie said that the group, through its hotels and resorts, also try to preserve the rich culture and hospitality of the people of Nagaland.

Also delivering a short speech, chief secretary government of Nagaland, Alemtemshi Jamir said in the industrialized era, young generation associate themselves better with places which provides better facilities.

He added that for such reasons “thousands” of youth prefer to work outside the state, in metro cities, as they provide better facilities. Jamir was of the view that many youth could associate themselves better with the services provided at Niathu resort.

Deliberating on the requirements for better facilities, Jamir lamented that the same view was not shared by everyone. “Sometimes people may think that things here are too lavish perhaps because of the poverty that exist in some areas”, said Jamir. However he also reasoned that poverty also exists in the most developed places also.

He also exuded hope that the resorts would set up branches in other parts of the state thus building tourism as an identity within the state. Earlier, senior Pastor, NCRC, Rev. Dr. Shiwoto Sumi invoked God’s blessing and delivered a message.  The gathering was also entertained with a song by ‘Zowe Madrigal’.

The inaugural programme was attended by chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his wife, GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni and his wife, ministers, parliamentary secretaries, host of other dignitaries and well wishers.
