ted Kaito over phone about the challenges ahead to control crime rates in the state after taking over the charge of state home ministry, Kaito stated that crime rate in the state has “relatively” come down.
Apart from curbing other crimes, the home minister was concerned over report of armed cadres of groups from neighboring states filtering into Nagaland. Showing concern over reports that some of them were taking shelter in Nagaland, the home minister said neighbouring states should not allow these cadres to operate from any place in the state specially Dimapur.
He disclosed that certain armed groups from neighbouring states were operating and making their base in Dimapur. The home minister also reminded that some of them had been arrested from Dimapur earlier.
Referring to the ongoing peace Naga talks, the home minister said: “Allow us to go ahead with the settlement of our own political solution which is the cry of the Nagas and is heading for a solution.” Kaito added that his ministry would pursue all means to draw the attention of all organizations especially “national workers” to shun violence for a peaceful atmosphere in the state.
