Yongshei Village “Morung” inaugurated

An RCC tradition al “Morung”, “Baongdu Bangjaa Morung” which was constructed at the cost of Rs. 16, 0000 lakh at Yongshei village was inaugurated by C. Bhupom Phom, district horticulture office Longleng as chief guest.
The chief guest while lauding the elders and youth of the “khel”, said it was due to the combined and untiring effort, the “Morung” was completed successfully
Phom also urged all citizens of the village to stay united and said that the construction of RRC “Morung” by the “khel” has set an example to the rest of the Phom community. 
The chief guest also urged the villagers to protect the beautiful “Morung” with love and care. He donated Rs. 20000 towards the Baongdu Pang.
Guest of honour, B. Metyen Phom, UDA SDEO, Longleng elaborated on the existence of “Morung”, and said it was a great significance in terms of ritual and practices. 
The day-long programme witnessed folk dances by Shangnyei Vantungthee Bangthaung, Heong Shatanla & Chingshing Vangvungla Lamen Vangchong and Chingkon Linyiula Baondu Yiukha groups. 
Earlier, the programme was led by C. Phulen Phom and invocation prayer by Issac pastor Yongshei Baptist Church.
Invitees from neighboring villages and other Konyak community attended the function.
