Thanksgiving programme for the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at 57 Thonoknyu A/C was held at Thonoknyu headquarter on April 13.
According to an official bulletin, MLA, L. Khumo while delivering his speech, expressed gratitude for according him a warm welcome and thanked 57 A/C Thonoknyu for electing him as their representative for the NLA.
Khumo said the programme was an occasion for them to thank the Almighty and to dedicate themselves and work in unity.
He said he was only a public “postman” and an agent to the government and therefore urged the public to fully cooperate with the government without discriminating any party under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio for more development.
The programme was compared by Chettei and Mukamchim. Short speeches were delivered by Ahukiu president Kiusam Area, Mongloi president Pathso Area, Puchai president Thonoknyu Area, Khiamongshe president AMC 57 A/C, S. Pukoi president AYC 57 A/C.
Welcome address was said by Pesha president 57 A/C, dedication and prayer of blessing by Namang pastor PBC, special number by NCP youth Chelliso village, invocation by Tali pastor PBC Thonoknyu village and vote of thanks by Torepkiu working committee and benediction by K. Khiamong TBC. The other highlights of the programme were traditional dance by Peshu village, Chilliso village, women’s traditional dance by Thonoknyu village and town.
Meanwhile, felicitation programme for newly elected MLA, C. L. John was held at Chen Moho village, 45 Tehok A/C on April 12.
Speaking at the occasion, parliamentary secretary, R.D & REPA, C. L. John said that he would “eradicate” backwardness of the area people and bring development not only for his constituency but Nagas as a whole.
The programme was chaired by Wangnok, president NPF 45 A/C Tehok unit. Earlier, welcome speech was delivered by Yanwang, Angh Chen Moho village. Short speeches were delivered by Noklem ex-minister, Hillo Semp, additional director RD, Khoiwang president Konyak Union, Tingthoak president NPF Mon division and vote of thanks by Nokha, advisor NPF 45 A/C Tehok. The function was attended by Honji, deputy commissioner, Kohima, Nyanpong project director Mon, Dr. Phaola principal SIRD Nagaland, SDO Civil Chen, NGOs’, party workers and delegates from Tehok area.
