Two died in a road mishap when the car in which they were traveling ( A-Star NL 04 C 0790) collided with an Army truck at 9th Mile, near Manja gate, Karbi Anglong Friday at around 6 p.m.
One of the deceased was identified as Temsumeren (36), son of Tinukaba of Waromung village and resident of Model colony, Purana bazaar, Dimapur.
The other victim was yet to be identified. Family members said the bodies of the two victims were taken to Rangapahar Army cantonment hospital after the accident.
It is not known whether the two were killed on the spot or succumbed to injuries at Rangahapar hospital.
The cause and nature of the accident was also yet to be ascertained. When family members learnt that the bodies were in the Army hospital, they rushed but were kept waiting at the TCP gate.
They also resented the misleading and confusing information given to them at the TCP Gate. Army authorities first informed them that the bodies would be handed over by 10 p.m. but later they were informed that the bodies were sent to Dillai Police Station along with Assam Police.
