KBBB: Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bang’jüm (KBBB) development wing “Hills Area Development Organization (HADO)” in consultation with the district administration and the forest department will be organizing World Environment Day on June 5 at Town Council Hall at 10 a.m. under UNEP theme “Think-Eat-Save”.
With regard to this, KBBB has informed all government heads of departments, people organizations (KU, KSU, KNSK, GBs, VCCs), Sister Churches of Mon town, students of different schools especially Eco Clubs, and NGOs to participate in the program.
KBBB executive secretary has requested all Church members to plant at least one tree each to mark the day in one’s own suitable places.
Meanwhile, Churches under KBBB observed ‘Green Sunday’ on June 2 on the theme “The Peace of God: Let it be seen in all Creations”.
The objective of ‘Green Sunday’ was to create a space “green pulpit” within which audience members feel that “the Earth is the Lord’s and everything it” (Psalms 24:1), and the Church as the divine institution is responsible to take care of the Lord’s Creations.
DEO Kma: District education officer Kohima in collaboration with the department of science and technology Nagaland Kohima will be observing ‘World environment day’ on the topic “climate change” on June 5, 11 a.m. at Rüzükhrie government higher secondary school Kohima. Dr. Vizovol Mekro reader Kohima science college Jotsoma would grace the occasion as guest speaker.
