Commission for Education, Diocese of Kohima, organized a felicitationprogramme for HSSLC cum HSLC toppers of Catholic schools at Little Flower Hr. Sec. School, Kohima on June 8.
Lucas Meyase, Rtd, Director, School Education, Nagaland was the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou, Vicar General, Diocese of Kohima graced the occasion as guest of honor. The toppers were given certificates of merit and other gifts.
During the program, the chief guest congratulated the toppers, their teachers and parents for their great achievements and thanked God for them.
He told about the difficulty students from the north east face while getting enrolled in good and famous institutions in the metros.
He advised the students not to compete with others which will create jealousy but compete with own selves, and to choose a carrier that suits to their aptitude and abilities.
While congratulating the toppers, the guest of honor said that they should not get carried away by their present success but to be respectful and grateful always.
While thanking everyone involved in the success of the program, Rev. Fr. Mathew John Thuniampral, Secretary, Commission for Education, Diocese of Kohima congratulated the toppers and said that he was proud of their wonderful performance and thanked all the school authorities for bringing laurels to the Catholic schools in Nagaland.
He also disclosed that there are 98 Catholic schools in Nagaland, of which 49 are high schools and 21 higher secondary schools.
11 out of 49 high schools came out with 100% pass result. Out of 112 ranks, 63 ranks were secured by the Catholic schools and out of the Top 10 HSSLC rank holders, 6 were from Catholic schools.
Earlier, invocation was said by Rev. Fr. Jonas Kerketta SDB while the welcome address was proposed by Sr. Anna Molly FMA, Principal, LFHSS, Kohima.
