Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) has condemned the killing of Atoka Assumi son of Vitokhe Assumi, former president of Sumi Hoho, by one Lashika of NSCN (K) at Akuluto on June 12.
Terming the incident as peace disturbing, V. Hetoi Chishi, president, YAN stated that cold blooded killing of Atoka in front of his children and wife without any trial of fault was an “inhuman act”.
“The perpetrator of the gruesome incident, which also resulted in grievous injury one Robin of Lumithsami, should be brought to book and befitting and exemplary action be initiated against him”, stated YAN.
Chishi also appealed to all right thinking organizations and citizens to denounce such act of barbarism as such acts has no place in a civilized society.
The association further conveyed its sympathy to the members of bereaved family and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
