In yet another suspected factional related violence, one civilian reportedly sustained minor injury, when suspected rival NSCN cadre(s) clashed near DC Hill, South Point area around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. A police team rushed to the spot after receiving information.
According to police sources, at least three-four rounds were fired from an assault rifle (supposedly AK series). No further details could be ascertained till the time of filing the report.
It maybe mentioned that Wednesday night’s shooting is the second incident in Zunheboto district within one week, this month.
On June 12, a civilian– Atoka Assumi was reportedly shot dead by NSCN (K) cadre(s) in Akuluto town while another civilian, Robin Kiho was grievously injured.
