Special Operation Team (SOT), DEF of Mokokchung early Tuesday morning seized 40 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and arrested one Merentoshi (24) son of Sobu Jamir of Longkong village.
According to additional superintendent of police, Mokokchung, T Yanrenthung Ngullie, the SOT led by additional sub-inspector (ASI) Chichamo Lotha intercepted a Maruti Gypsy (NL 10 3443) inroad to Mokokchung near Aliba village.
However, on seeing the police personnel the accused reversed the car and fled the scene but was arrested between Waromong and Imchenkimong village. Interestingly, the seized vehicle was an auctioned police vehicle.
