Nagaland Foot Hills Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) would be holding a meeting with all the nine tribes’ apex hohos/unions on July 26, 3 p.m. at the residence of NFHRCC treasurer Yatshitsungba Ao, Khermahal, Dimapur.
NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir and general secretary W.Y. Kitahn in a press release said the meeting would “seriously” discuss the map of the proposed foothill road and road alignment in respective districts and foothill areas for final decision and onward submission to the state government for commencement of the construction from October this year.
NFHRCC has requested Ao Senden, Sumi Hoho, Kyong Hoho, Phom Union, Khiamniungan Union, Konyak Union, Sangtam Union, Chang Union and Yimchungru Union to send at least three members along with respective hoho/union chairmen.
The committee further requested the nine tribes’ bodies to attend the meeting without fail in the interest of the people of Nagaland.
Nagaland Foot Hills Road Construction Committee comprises of– Supu Jamir as convenor; K. Khekuho Wotsa, co-convenor; B. Thawang (IAS Rtd), co-convenor; W.Y. Kithan, general secretary; Bangtick Phom, joint secretary; K. Mar Lemtur, finance secretary and Yashitsungba Aier, treasurer.
There are 23 committee members -T.N. Manen (IAS Rtd), Meren Nokpu, Mar (Kohima), Hokiye Yepthomi, Zalipu, M. Yanthan (IAS Rtd), NN Ngullie (IPS Rtd), P.Chingan, LL Buming, Pasham, Peniang, Chingten, HB Moba, N. Hotongse, Yanghose, Tsabongkhyu, M. Supong, W.Leenba, Y.Lymba, Dr. Ramji, KT Asoba, L.Chuba and one committee member reserved from Phom tribe.
