In a delayed report received here, a minor girl (11 years) was “sexually molested” by a 60 year old man at Lakeview colony, Monday.
According to reports, the victim and the accused were tenants and staying at the same building. The accused identified as one Joginder Singh reportedly called the victim (“mentally challenged”) and molested her right in the vicinity of the building.
After the victim complained to her parents, the accused was nabbed by the colony residents and handed over to police.
On Tuesday, Lakeview Colony Council, youth and mothers organization after a meeting at the community hall, resolved to expel the accused from Nagaland. However, the banishment would come into effect after he serves the sentence for his misdemeanor as per law.
Meanwhile, Lakeview Colony Council has clarified that the sex worker(s) apprehended by NSCN (I-M) on August 2 and reported to be staying at Lakeview colony was not factual. No person by the name was staying at the colony, council members clarified Tuesday.
