Power department Tuensang, to curb illegal use of electric heaters in town, conducted checking 23 August and seized various electric heaters from the consumers at Old Medical ‘A’ and B’ sector Tuensang town.
According to department officials, the transformers were getting overloaded and frequently burnt down owing to use of such illegal electric heaters.
The officials said despite ban order issued by the government against using such illegal electric heater, the citizens were not paying heed to the order. The power department has warned that practice would not be tolerated in future.
Meanwhile, the department expressed gratitude to GBs, sector union leaders for their cooperation and expressed hope they would continue to extend their support. Such checking would be carried through out the town, informed the department.
