ANPSA 3rd talent expo-cum-competition held

All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Kohima unit held its 3rd talent expo-cum competition 2013, Wednesday at Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) Kohima with director SCERT, Vipralhou Kesiezie and advisor ANPSA Pheluopfelie as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

The programme was sponsored by Minister Hill Baptist higher secondary school (MHBHSS), East View Home School (EVHS), Schoolmate and Genuine printing press.

Addressing the students, the chief guest said that the ultimate goal of education was to bring bout all round development of child personality through various activities where setting life goals and challenges and providing opportunities to individuals was the greatest responsibility of education for growth and progress.

Kesiezie said that academic performances and records were no doubt the most essential records that the child required in their life for further studies and seeking for jobs.

“Music is indeed an important part of our lives and culture hence, we need to preserve and promote it” he added and said that in education, besides getting a degree the application of knowledge was rather more important when it comes to competition.

He said that the achievements of humanity in various fields such as works in music, literature, painting, architecture, sculpture etc. were impressive and amazing while recent developments in the field of science and technology has added new dimensions in the lives making radical changes in things one do and create.

Disclosing that one need to believe in oneself that one has the same capacity and the same potentialities like any successful person where success comes to only those people who believe in themselves, he appealed to the students to have faith and confidence in themselves where they can make it big in their life.

Meanwhile, the chief guest also invited all the students in the 2nd state level spelling bee completion cum extempore speech and elocution which would be held from September 26-28, at Kohima.

Guest of honour, advisor, ANPSA Pheluopfelie also exhorted the students. Norhievito Nagi of Baptist Mission School Jotsoma, Tolino Chishi of Little Flower Higher Secondary school and Jyoti of Baptist High were adjuged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in extempore speech.

While in solo competition Vizunu of Model Higher Secondary School, Wingamkamliu of Little Flower Higher Secondary School and Menuoseu Sorhie of Northfield School were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Azila of Baptist High school was awarded with special award for upcoming talent, sponsored by Symphony School of Music.

Judges for extempore speech were Tsukjemkala from Baptist high school, Nyanbeni Dorothy from St. Joseph school and Urmila Rasaily from Chandmari higher secondary school.

While judges for the solo competition were Meribeni Zares, Choir director, LBCK, Melekhoto Pucho, proprietor of Symphony school of music and Moses Khroumo, youth pastor, Cross Wonder church. Altogether, 32 schools under ANPSA Kohima unit participated in the programme.
