Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has requested Dimapur Club to allow free use of its ground for holding a blood donation camp.
DGU is planning to organize the blood donation camp on the theme “Don’t shed blood but donate bold” on September 14, 2013 to mark the Balidan Divas (Martyrs Day) in honour of Durga Malla, major, INA and Capt. Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC, which is observed on August 25 every year.
In a release issued here, DGU chairman Kumar Subba stated that the union had formally made its request to the Dimapur Club secretary Friday.
Over 400 people had donated blood during the blood donation camp organized by DGU in 2012. The blood was given to the blood bank of Dimapur Civil Hospital and those of other government hospitals in Nagaland, Subba added.
