Kidima Catholic Youth Association (KCYA) of St. Francis Xavier’s Church observed its 25th Foundation Day September 10 on the theme of “Be of good comfort, rise, He calleth thee” (Saint Mark 10: 49) with Reverend Fr. Thomas Muttathil, Parish Priest as the main celebrant.
The programme was held as a yearlong celebration of Silver Jubilee, which would culminate December 21 to 22, 2013 with Reverend Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese.
Reverend Fr. Thomas Muttathil in his speech asked the gathering to give thanks to the Almighty God for His blessing and challenged the youth to march ahead for the preparation of the Golden Jubilee celebration with courage and strength.
The first president of KCYA Vilasüle Blanda, gave a brief history of the association. Southern Angami Catholic Union (SACU) vice president Vitsu R. Martin spoke on the topic “the responsibilities of youth” as the guest speaker. A special number was presented by KCYA office bearers and former Presidents of KCYA.
