Landowners of oil bearing block, Wokha zone held a consultative meet on October 8 in Dimapur and decided to urge the state government on incorporating a clause to operate all oil bearing blocks under Wokha zone.
In a press release, the consultative meet session secretary Francis Kikon said the meeting discussed ways to facilitate interaction with the proposed oil company before allotment of operation contract so that better understanding was worked out for smooth functioning.
The affected landowners also deliberated on various issues of extraction and exploration of oil. To further facilitate greater participation, the meeting participants decided to hold another meeting on October 19, 10 a.m. at Community Transformation Centre, Walford, Dimapur.
