‘Bijaya Sammellan’, a socio cultural programme was organized by Bengali Hindu Community in coordination with Durga Puja Pandals of Dimapur, at Durga Mandir auditorium near Millennium Market, Dimapur on October 27.
The event was graced in presence of Swami Sadhanandaji Maharaj, organizing secretary (north-east) of Bharat Sevashram Sangha from Guwahati as chief guest.
Lipok Pongen and Pihoto Awomi, former DMC member and public leader of Dimapur attended the programme as guest of honours with other community leaders.
Swamiji lauded the hospitality showed by the Dimapurians towards other communities irrespective of cast and creed.
Bishnu Bhattacharjee working president of the community in his welcome address invited youth to join hands to preserve culture and heritage to contribute more to the society.
Other speakers were Dr. A B Choudhury, chief advisor BHC, Monoj Bhattacharjee Principal Pranab Vidyapith, S. N. Dubey Principal Hindi College and Tarun Nandi President, BHC.
The ‘Sammellan’ was highlighted by cultural programmes and felicitation, where organising chief of Durga Puja committee and community leaders of Dimapur were honored.
The ‘Sammellan’ concluded with vote of thanks by convener Rupak Das.
