Fifth financial literacy programme cum joint credit camp for Kohima district was conducted on October 29 in the conference hall of EAC, Botsa. EAC Botsa, Vikuto graced the programme.
Organized by Vijaya Bank, High School branch, Kohima, the camp was conducted for villages under Botsa block and few villages falling under Tseminyu block.
During the programme, the participants were sensitized about the objective of financial inclusion programme, role of banks, latest developments in banking technology and the need to develop long term relationship with banks for all round development.
Bendang Aier, AGM (NABARD) and Th.Tunglut, lead district manager of Kohima attended the programme as resource persons.
Branch managers of UCO Bank, HDFC, Axis Bank and Vijaya Bank addressed the participants. They also responded to queries raised during the interactive session by the participants.
The other highlight of the programme was inauguration of “Ultra Small Branch” of Vijaya Bank by Vikuto in the EAC office complex, Botsa.
A financial literacy booklet “Safe Money, assured future” published by SBI was also distributed to all the participants.
The programme was supported under Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) managed by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
