Khiamniungan Students’ Union Kohima (KSUK) has extended support to the demand by Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) for revocation of the lone science teachers along with the post from Government High School (GHS) Chipur to GHS Noksen.
Khiamniungan Students’ Union Kohima said that acceptance of teacher’s transfer by the department without the knowledge and recommendation of the VEC under its jurisdiction was a “contravention to administrative power conferred of the committee.”
The student union said that if such “ill practice” prevails then “we have no possibilities to think of promoting education” thus affecting the real objective of Right to Education which it said amounts to move towards “double retrogression of the underprivileged students studying in such rural areas.”
Khiamniungan Students’ Union Kohima then said that the education department was living in a “fool’s paradise” if the department thinks that students could obtain true academic education without a teacher.
The student union then cautioned that in case the matter was not settled at the earliest, the school would “go to the dogs” and that the education department would be “highly responsible in any consequences.”
