In an effort to ensure proper implementation of the schemes under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in the district, the Dimapur District VDB Association has resolved that no fund under general programme and convergence would be released to those without the implementation of the works.
This was resolved at the general meeting with the VDB secretaries and village council chairmen at Dimapur Town Hall Friday.
Besides adopting a resolution, the meeting, chaired by its president Tohoshe Awomi, also deliberated upon the need for the VDBs and village councils for judicious use of funds for village development.
The meeting, attended by 338 village council chairmen and VDB secretaries, also discussed for better functioning of the association and role it should play in educating the people in the rural areas to make best use of the facilities provided by the government.
