Electoral Observer V. Shashank Shekhar, Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Nagaland held a meeting Wednesday at DCs office Kohima. The meeting was attended by the deputy commissioner & district election officer, Kohima W. Honje Konyak, additional deputy commissioner & electoral registration officer, Kohima Asangla Imti and other administrative officers of Kohima district.
The meeting discussed on the arrangements for final publication of Electoral Roll that will be completed in Kohima district and throughout Nagaland on January 6. District administrative officers are taking all due precautions to ensure that no illegal immigrants enter in the voters list. Last year during revision of E/Rolls, 27851 numbers of voters were deleted out of which most were of doubtful citizens. It was reported that de-duplication software by CEO Nagaland Office detected 4882 numbers suspected cases of duplicate entries and after verification the District Administration deleted 2990 numbers of bogus/duplicate voters following due procedure of law.
