Fourteen teenage girls from Dimapur, Kohima, Tuensang and Peren will be vying for the first ever “Platinum Miss Teen 2013” and the ultimate winner will be declared at the finale show on December 21, 6 p.m. at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur.
The contestants, Anatoli Awomi, Anne Konyak, Chijano Kikon, Marina Kiho, Inavili Sema, Herobila Sangtam, Thejangunuo Mero, Moatula Pongen, Asong Jamir, Henika Chishi, Alem Phom, Shanchobeni Jungio, VIvika Kiba and Thonjiliu Panmei was said to be participating with “sincerity and a positive attitude.”
According to the organizers, on Day-Four of the “Prep Week”, Atoli Shohe conducted a session on general dining and social rules and Ethiel Konyak taught the girls choreography for the finale show. The girls also had an enriching experience with mentors for the day: Khriesinuo Kire (Advocate) and Kevi Shurhozelie (F&B Trainer).
Khriesinuo Kire talked about legal rights and important issues regarding the safety of girls and women. She enlightened them about the existence of women’s cell and how to go about reporting cases such as sexual harassment at school or college etc. She also distributed printed material that will be beneficial for the contestants. Khriesinuo Kire also clarified many doubts and questions that the contestants brought up.
Kevi Shurhozelie’s session on social etiquette was an interesting session for the girls. They were taught on the appropriate way to greet elders, professionals and some pointers on introducing themselves.
Table manners – the do’s and don’ts were also discussed. She encouraged them to learn and practice all that is being taught during the Prep Week as it will come in handy one day.
Later, the contestants will participate in a “Talent Show” to select the winner of the subtitle: “The Talented Teen.” This will be judged by Nise Meruno, Renbeni Odyuo and Kokliba Thonger. The official stylist for ‘Platinum Miss Teen 2013’, Arinaro Longkumer and her team will also be selecting the winner of the subtitle: “The Diva (Best personal style).”
Meanwhile, the organizers have invited all well wishers, family and the general public to the show. Tickets will be made available at the venue on December 20 and 21.
