Parliamentary secretary for rural development C.L. John has formally inaugurated new office building of District Evaluation Officer (DEO), Mon February 20.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, John called upon the department officials to discharge their official duties with punctuality, sincerity and with humbleness under the new office building.
Emphasizing on cleanliness and ownership of government properties, C.L. John termed the peons, chowkidars and the sweepers as the real owner of the office, saying management of the building would become impossible without their sincere service.
He also appealed to the employees to adopt sanitation in the office and set example to other offices and at the same time discharge their duties with utmost sincerity.
Stressing on the activities of the evaluation department, he said the department had a major role to play for developmental scheme for evaluating even the highest offices of the district like DC and SP offices.
The chief guest urged upon the department officials to assist the people of Mon to avail the service of the department in the developmental process.
In her short speech, the deputy commissioner (DC) Mon Angau I Thou said evaluation department was a crucial department to carry the developmental activities of the government in the right perspectives. She asserted department was an independent body to study and formulate various developmental schemes of the government and provide suggestions to the policy makers.
In her welcome address, director evaluation Kevileno Angami stressed on the activities of the department.
She said the primary duty of the department was to supervise the development activities of the government.
Short speech was delivered by the deputy commandant, VG, Mon, Chingshom and DVO, Mon. Earlier, the Pastor KBCM proposed invocation prayer while vote of thanks was proposed by Huhie Zeliang, assistant director evaluation. The function was presided over by joint director evaluation W. Chubala.
