Tobacco awareness campaign conducted

Tobacco awareness campaign was conducted on March 6 at Highland hall school, Naga united village by a team from District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Dimapur.  Kezhaleno Phira, principal chaired the function and power point presentation was given by Dr C Tetseo. DTCC appreciated the school authority of Highland hall school for agreeing to declare the school tobacco free.  It may be noted that there has been some guidelines to declare educational institutions tobacco free such as such as display of tobacco free signboard, display of section 6 (b) of COTPA, prohibition of tobacco products by teachers and students in the school premises and a tobacco control committee is to be  in place. Meanwhile, Dr C Tetseo has encouraged other schools in Dimapur district to come forward on the issue as shown by High Hall School.
