AR recovers arms and ammo

Personnel of 31 Assam Rifles, during an operation April 5, reportedly recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and warlike stores.  According to PRO of IGAR (N), the recoveries included one 40mm Lathode (made in USA engraving) with seven live rounds, one AK 56 rifle with two magazines and one hundred twenty five live ammunition. The above stores were recovered 3 km South West of Akhoia village, where an area domination patrol of 31 Assam Rifles was moving, stated PRO. “Cadres from an unknown faction appeared to have halted for the night and while fleeing from the area left behind arms and ammunition,” the PRO stated. The Assam Rifles stated that Changtongya and surrounding area have been witnessing increased underground activities and March 29 there had also been a major inter faction clash in the same area.
