Unity College holds first parent-teacher meet

Unity College’s first parent-teacher meet was held April 11 at the College, Dimapur.
Speaking at the meeting, college principal Dr. S.K. Chabbra described the event as a maiden step taken. He highlighted the importance of forging closer ties and establishing a healthy partnership for the growth of the college and for the well-being of the students.
According to a release, the principal also mentioned the progress made by the college within a span of seven years- UGC Recognition and attainment of 2(F) 12(b) status, process of NAAC Assessment, Academic performance and other achievements.
College vice-principal T. Renthunglo briefed the gathering about the discipline measures adopted in the College, introduction of Mentor-Mentee System, Internal Assessment under the Semester System. Administrator Oren Ovung gave an overview about the future plans and polices of the governing board in terms of infrastructural development (construction of state of the Art B.Ed complex), up gradation of the existing library at par with other premier institute, faculty development programs, establishment of language laboratory and introduction of skill-based courses.
At the meeting, the doubts and queries of the parents and guardians were addressed.
Besides, personal interaction with mentors was also facilitated.
The highlight of the meeting included formation of parents’ association where seven members were nominated to constitute the executive body, the release stated.
