MLA O Imti Longkumer has clarified news item published on April 4 in local dailies wherein he was quoted saying “the upcoming neither Lok Sabha Election Rio nor K.V Pusa or between NPF and Congress, but on communal line”.
In a clarification note MLA Imti claimed that that his speech was “grossly misquoted” saying that what he “actually” said was “India being a secular country, it was the responsibility of each candidate and political party involved in the Lok Sabha election to maintain the secular fabric of the country.” He further regretted “the error that appeared due to misinterpretation” of his speech.
