Night curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. has been promulgated in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh with immediate effect for a period of 60 days.
The curfew would prohibit movement of any persons/group of persons and vehicular traffic in the 5 kilometer belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
According to a DIPR report, this was informed by addl. district magistrate, Sivasagar D.N Morang. The curfew has been imposed in order to check anti-social elements and prevent occurrences of untoward incident.
However, security personnel and officials on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order, said DIPR.
