All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA), Zunheboto unit has appealed NSCN (I-M) authorities to look into complaints of harassment by its cadres as the unit has been receiving complaints in the last few days. In a press release, ANTA, Zunheboto unit president T. Katoshe Yeptho said there have been complaints that “certain NSCN (I-M) cadres” have been harassing taxi drivers plying between Zunheboto and Dimapur via Pughoboto along the road sides. ANTA, Zunheboto unit said this has caused “inconvenience and fear psychosis” to both drivers and passengers of taxis. The cadres were apparently demanding yearly tax which was a matter to be taken up with the owners and not the drivers, said the unit. The ANTA, Zunheboto unit has appealed the NSCN (I-M) authorities to look into the complaints so as to find a solution with the taxi owners and stop harassing drivers and passengers. The unit would not be held responsible for any misunderstanding that might occur out of the situation, said the press release.
