Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has expressed concern over the allegation made against one of its bona fide member – Vilelie Khamo-with regard to the quality of the constructed road from Longtho to Liphanyan Governor’s Camp under Wokha district.  NCSU president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath termed the allegations against Vilelie, that his construction work was “sub-standard” and for which it invited a ban on him from Lotha Region as “hasty and drastic.” In this connection, NCSU has asked the PWD department to make a clarification on the issue as the matter rested with the government. NCSU also demanded clarification from GPRN/NSCN, within a week’s time, the allegation that an amount of Rs. 8.50 lakhs as 5% commission was demanded, as stated by the contractor.
SAPO, SAYO: Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) and Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) Tuesday decided that they will not cooperate with the GPRN/NSCN unless the case between the group and the M/s Vilelie Khamo & Sons was resolved amicably and till such time, asked GPRN/NSCN to desist from all activities within Southern Angami area.
SAP president Zadehol and SAYO president Kekhriiho Mekro said the decision was arrived at after a review of press statements by both GPRN/NSCN Lotha region and Vilelie Khamo. The two organizations also termed GPRN/NSCN Lotha region’s allegation as an attempt to tarnish a person’s personal image.
ACAUT: Against Corruption And Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland has condemned GPRN/NSCN Lotha region’s allegation against M/S Vilelie Khamo & Sons and decided to support the contractor.
ACAUT Nagaland media cell expressed “disgust” with GPRN/NSCN Lotha region for trying to play with the sentiments of Nagas in whipping up the issue of poor quality workmanship.
ACAUT said if the quality of the road was poor as alleged, then the issue had to be tackled appropriately by all including the right of intervention by NPGs. However, the SMS sent to the contractor demanding Rs. 8.50 lakhs was a “shameless” action.
ACAUT said that GPRN/NSCN Lotha region “stooped low” and tarnished tits own image and has requested the GPRN/NSCN to disown the statement of its Lotha region by issuing a public apology.
ACAUT reiterated that Vilelie Khamo was a bonafide member of Nagaland 1st Class Government Contractors Union which has resolved to support ACAUT at a meeting in the “one government, one Tax” resolution. Further, ACAUT said any threats and intimidations against Vilelie was condemnable.
