GPRN/NSCN has vehemently condemned the action of the Indian security forces where the private residence of the RAO (Regional Administrative Officer), Chakhesang Region, at Sovima was raided by the AR personnel on July 14 thereby disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the area.
GPRN/NSCN statement through its MIP said the ‘Violation and breach’ of agreed Ceasefire rules by the Indian security forces is becoming a regular trend despite many reminders by the GPRN. It urged the higher authorities to rein-in their boys and stop their further misadventures.
The Deputy Kilonser cum Chairman (Caretaker), Chakhesang Region, Kevetsolo Kevi confirmed the raid of his residence and also claimed that one shorthand (Pistol) of .32 (7.65) calibre was taken away.
Terming the actions of the Indian security forces was a clear violation of ceasefire ground rules, the chairman wondered why his house was raided when they are well aware that he was not even at home at Sovima as he is stationed here at Chakhesang Region discharging his official duties.
He also alleged that Assam Rifles personnel continued patrolling around the area for 3-4 hours causing immense mental agony to his Family and creating insecurity feelings around the area.
