
In a swift response to report that one person was kidnapped and assaulted, the personnel of North police station Kohima swung into action and arrested three persons in connection with the case August 14 night.
The three accused have been identified as Neingumelie Dzüvichü (30), son of late Rulhoulie Dzüvichü of L Khel; Ruokuovituo Sote (25), son of Methasenyu Sote of P Khel and Mhalelhoulie Mepfüo (40), son of late Razouvoto Mepfüo of L Khel. All three hailing from Kohima village are under police custody. According to police, the vehicle (bolero — NL01H0036), which the accused used, was also seized.
Sources said the victim Pelo Letro was badly beaten up by the accused at a place in para medical colony Kohima. The victim was taking to the Nagaland civil secretariat road and left there.
This incident happened when the victim tried to save his co-traveler driver Neizeko, who was being beaten up by the accused for not giving vehicle side passage. The victim was under medication at Naga hospital and later referred to Bethel hospital. The case was filed with North police station Kohima and further investigation underway till the time of filing this report.
