Department of labour, Dimapur organized awareness programme on registration of beneficiaries under building and other construction worker’s welfare CESS Act 1996, Wednesday at town hall Dimapur.
Resource person, deputy commissioner N Hushili Sema spoke on the important roles of GBs and colony administrators and said that registration and certification be it skilled or unskilled should be must for all functionaries and that GBs should take the job registration seriously since there “is lots of benefit”.
She also asked the GBs not to certify anyone in all circumstances since later the administration would be blamed and encouraged the participants to contribute something to the society by being honest and patient to have a peaceful environment. On increase of criminal activities in the society, Hushili appealed all GBs, council members and participants to certify in-order to register the person.
The programme was followed by technical session and discussion hour, led directorate of labour, Kohima Project Officer Chubayanger where he highlighted on the salient features of building and other constructions schemes.
He mentioned that all beneficiaries should have bank account in his/her name in any nationalized or scheduled bank as no transaction would be done by the welfare board for availing any of these benefits and that beneficiaries should share their bank account number with ACL office of the concerned district.
The programme was chaired by assistant labour commissioner, Dimapur Imlisashi Jamir who also presented keynote address highlighting the objectives and goal for organizing the programme.
The programme was attended by ward council Chairman’s, GBs and other participants.
