DC Mkg instructs all HoDs to attend DPDB meeting

Deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel has instructed all heads of offices in the district to attend the monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting regularly sending a strong signal who did not attend the highest district level meeting would be viewed seriously.
According to a DIPR report, Sushil Kumar Patel, who took charge as 35th DC, Mokokchung September 2 last, said this while presiding over the DPDB meeting for the first time September 8 in the ADC’s conference hall, Mokokchung.
Welcoming all the members in the meeting, Patel said that regular attendance in the meeting was imperative as many issues pertaining to the welfare of the district was deliberated upon and decision were made in the meeting.
He also said that any officers who were out of station on official duty or training should bring to his notice.
During discussions on agenda, the meeting approved opening of new School Rajeshwari Karuna at Tuli, upgradation of Springfield School from GPS to GMS at Changtongya town and upgradation of government middle school (GMS) to government high school (GHS) at Sapangya and decided to forward it to the responsible department for further action.
The agenda on establishment of tourist camp/tourist Lodge at nature Park Ungma was forwarded to the district tourist officer asking it to fulfil the criteria and it would be taken in the next meeting.
DC also informed all the members about constitution of district level verification committee for verifications of work-charge and casual employees headed by DC as per government decision. This is to identify exact number of genuine employees under these categories in all the departments, for which separate circular will be issued to all the offices. The meeting decided that Irrigation and Flood control would make a power point presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
DC Mkg to tour border areas
The deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel would tour villages in Assam-Nagaland border areas in a move to acquaint himself with the problems and to address such problems timely without allowing it to go out of hand. During his reception programme as new D.C Mokokchung at town hall September 2, Patel articulated that a solution to the border problem and minimizing the border tension with neighboring Assam would his top priority.
Besides meeting people in the border areas, Patel would meet his Sivasagar and Jorhat counterparts with a message to make renewed efforts to ensure peace in the border areas, stated a DIPR report. DC Mokokchung was also expected to take up issues with his counterparts on frequent imposition of road blockades.
