DSSU freshers’ meet, felicitation prog

Dimapur Sümi Students Union (DSSU) held its fresher’s meet cum felicitation programme at Town hall here Monday with parliamentary secretary for jail, home guards and civil defence Er. Picto Shohe as chief guest. The theme of the function was “In pursuit of excellence”.
Speaking at the function, Shohe said that the students coming together in such a function was the beginning of pursuing excellence in all fields. He further encouraged the students to work together in unity in order to pursue their objectives. He said students should work hard so that the progress of one individual could build the good society.
The parliamentary secretary pointed out that one needed to control own minds and replace bad habits with good ones to be successful persons.
Shohe said that age between 12 to 31 was the time to decide what one wanted to be in future.
Later Kiboholi Chisho and Puloka Zhimomi was crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher’s.
Earlier, the programme was conducted by DSSU former assistance general secretary Alivi Assumi and DSSU joint secretary Steve Chophy. Invocation prayer was led by DSBC associate pastor Hokito Swu while welcome address was delivered by DSSU vice president Akuto Yepthomi. New Life Bible College Dimapur presented a special number. Dreamz unlimited and Sümi students Union DC Court Area entrained the crowed.
Former SKK president and DSSU advisor Zheito Chophy streamlined the DSSU units. Vote of thanks was given by DSSU finance secretary Kakiho A. Awomi and benediction was said by NCRC, Padum Pukhuri women pastor Eunice.
