Condemnations over rape, murder

Watchman team: Watchman Team has condemned the murder of the teenage girl near Merapani and the rape and murder of a minor girl at Amaluma Village.
The Team urged authorities “to rightfully discharge their duty so as to arrest and punish the guilty”.
The team said it observed that most criminals and offenders do not serve their prison time and are released soon.
“We recommend judiciary and judges to not be swayed in their judgments or be moved by emotional appeals or monetary benefits”, the team stated.
“We stand against those lawyers using their office and authority in bailouts of criminals who are not getting their just punishment or time in prison”, the team asserted. 
On the issue of the Nagas suffering in the Ralan area, the team urged Naga public assist the affected people in rehabilitation. It also appealed the state government, NBCC and NCRC to visit the site and “donate according to the need”.
“These are our brothers who need support materially and spiritually. If we can help Kashmiris with Rs. 10 lakhs who were more than 2000 kms away, surely we can give more than a helping hand to our own”, the team stated.

CMA: Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) has condemned the alleged rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl by a labour identified as Ibobi Singh on September 17 at Meluri.
In a press release, CMA president Zaposhelu Venuh stated the act of Ibobi Singh was “beyond human tolerance”, adding that such heinous crime committed to a minor was no doubt deserving a stringent punishment. CMA has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. Further, association also extended support and affirmed to stand firm for the “elimination of such rigorous crime in the society.”
LEE: Longsa Eloe Ekhung (LEE) has strongly condemned the incident where an innocent teenage girl was brutally raped and murdered while she was on her way to School on September 11 in between Bhandari – Merapani road.
In a press release, LEE president Ekhung expressed deep anguish and sadness over the incident, saying it was “one of the most brutal and heinous crimes committed in recent times.”
Ekhung also lauded the efforts and action of the NSCN (I-M) UT CAO Daniel Lotha and his team in apprehending the main accused Tsenthungo Shitiri. Further, LEE has urged the responsible authorities to arrest other absconding accused at the earliest. It stated that perpetrators of such heinous crime should be awarded the highest, most befitting and exemplary punishment so no such inhuman act would be committed in future. The LEE further conveyed its deep condolences to the bereaved family members of the victim and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.
DSDGBU: Dhansiripar Sub-Division, GB Union (DSDGB) has condemned the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl September 14 by one Pintu Hasam (22), son of Runil Hasam of Lanka Haklik village, Assam. The body of minor girl was recovered from Amaluma village.
In a press release, DSDGBU stated “this is one of the most heinous and beastly barbaric crimes and act witnessed in recent times.” Union said students have become soft target of criminals, adding that if the students were the future for the nation their life should be protected by one and all.
Further, GB union demanded that accused be awarded with the highest punishment so that such inhuman act was not repeated. GB union conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
KLSU: Kohima Lotha students’ union (KLSU) has condemned the rape and murder of a teenage girl by one Tsenthungo Shitiri on September 11 between Bhandari town and Merapani area. KLSU termed the act as barbaric and inhuman and urged the responsible authority to punish and ward the culprit as per the law.
UNBNCC: United North Block Naga Colony Council (UNBNCC) has condemned the murder of late Nantu Saikia, whose dead body was dumped at the colony, and grievous bullets injuries caused to driver Nazi Uddin Ahmed of Sibsagar by “senseless miscreants” who hired the vehicle (Scorpio) to Borpathar and later diverted to Dimapur with attempting to snatch the vehicle.
The council has urged the police to pursue the case with Assam counterpart and bring those responsible to book at the earliest.
