PM Modi to unveil stone monolith

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would unveil a stone monolith which has been erected in honour of his visit to the state on December 1. According to a press note issued by tourism, art & culture commissioner secretary Himato Zhimomi, Modi on his arrival would be welcomed by the chief host, the Governor of Nagaland P.B. Acharya at 10 a.m. on December 1 at Kisama. The Prime Minister would also witness a spectacular ensemble of song and dance entitled “The Warrior”, said the commissioner secretary.  Modi is scheduled to address the gathering after being felicitated with Naga costume and headgear. The host of the Hornbill Festival chief minister T.R. Zeliang would be delivering the closing speech. Zhimomi said the objective of the hornbill festival was to promote, protect and preserve the unique Naga way of life and the collaborative spirit brought about by the festival was immeasurable as it epitomized “The Naga”. Zhimomi also said that the Northeastern states looked forward to Modi’s engagement with the “Act East Policy.”
